Paul teaches Typing, Computer Technology, and Business and Office Education classes at Tohono O'odham High school. He has been at T.O.H.S. since the school opened in 1987. He has a Bachelor's degree from Milligan College in Tennessee; has taught in public school in Ohio and Arizona, and has also taught in a prison in Ohio.
His Business and Office Education classes manage the student store at T.O.H.S. Students work with purchasing, pricing, advertising, personnel and payroll, and accounting while enrolled in this class. Mr. Brown has successfully developed the Computer Technology class for students to learn how computers work by building computers and installing software. He has been instrumental in training staff members, as well as students to use computers. He and some of his students recently assisted in setting up the internet labs at T.O.H.S. Students can be found using computers in his room during breakfast, lunch and after school as well as during class times. There is always something interesting going on.
Mr. Brown has been recognized by the staff members at Tohono O'odham High School as Peer-of-the-Year in 1994-95. Staff members who recommended him for this earlier recognition and for recognition this year, repeatedly state that he is always willing and makes time to assist them with their needs. They rely on him for advice on instructional techniques as well as any computer related information they need. He has also served as Acting Principal when the Principal is away from campus.
Paul Brown is a dedicated teacher recognized by his students and colleagues as supportive, innovative, and reliable. He is an asset to Tohono O'odham High School.
