George M. and Josephine Leatherberry were the parents of all the Leatherberry children - Marie Brown, Charlie, Everett, Roy, Elmer, Embert, etc.  Myrna, who married Jess Baughman, whom I have written about, was a daughter and continued to live in the old home place.

Josephine died many years before George.

I remember George as he was a faithful attender at our ball games.  His son, Charley, played first base, his son Elmer, pitched at times, his grandson, Charles Miller, was an outfielder and a catcher, so he was interested.  One thing I remember about good old George - he hated a bunt.  Every time a player was directed to bunt, George had a stroke or some minor ailment like a stroke.  He hated a bunt.

Buster and Marie (she was his daughter) took him fishing on occasion to Canada or to Michigan.  After the fishing was over George was ready to reach Augusta and he sat in the car (told me by Buster) pushing the floor boards for more speed to get back to old Augusta.  He was a character, but a well liked man in Augusta.
